The last in the Arkham series, Batman: Arkham Knight is coming to Xbox One, PS4, and PC later this year with developer Rocksteady Studios taking back the reigns after Warner Bros Montreal had a go with Arkham Origins last year. The story takes place one year after the events of Arkham City with the Joker still presumed dead. From the speech in the trailer, it sounds like Scarecrow will be headlining the villains this time.
Watch as we blast through our first multiplayer match of the Titanfall Beta on Xbox One!
We’re only 8 days away from the release of Thief on February 25th. Here you can watch a complete playthrough of the game’s first mission, although this is just one of the many ways to complete the task at hand.
We’ve been checking out the Titanfall Beta on Xbox One this week. Here you can see us work through the game’s tutorial for beginners and see everything you need to know before heading into battle.
The team behind Dead Island, Techland, turns up the speed with Dying Light, infusing Mirror’s Edge with Left 4 Dead. This trailer shows us how the game looks running on the PlayStation 4 as well as give us a chance to see the multiple types of zombies you’ll come across. Dying Light will be out later this year on PC, PS3, PS4, 360, and Xbox One.
This game is definitely going on my list for games to look out for in 2014. The creators of Left 4 Dead are taking the 4-player co-op formula and pitting them against a fifth player who controls a monstrous beast that evolves and grows more powerful the longer the game lasts. Monster Hunter is a series that comes to mind when I think about this game. Look for Evolve later this year when it comes to PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
This was one of the more unexpected bits of news this week: It appears that online retailer, Amazon, has purchased Killer Instinct developer, Double Helix Studios. While this only pushes rumors of Amazon working on releasing their own game console, I’m more worried about what’s going to happen to Killer Instinct. Microsoft did comment on the merger stating that development would switch over to another third party developer, but Microsoft Studios would retain upkeep of the game as well as continue work on new content. With the recent success and praise of the reboot on Xbox One, I’m curious to see what other developers would be willing to toss their hat in the ring to work on it.
It’s exactly what it sounds like. Here we have Mega Man creator, Keiji Inafune, playing an early build of his new game Mighty No. 9. According to the youtube notes attached to the video, this was from Inafune’s speech at the 2014 D.I.C.E. Awards.
Do you like Lego games? Are you planning on seeing The Lego Movie in theaters? Pick up a retail copy of The Lego Movie Videogame, out now for PC/PS3/PS4/VITA/XBOX 360/XBOX ONE/3DS/Wii U, and get a voucher that’s good for $7.50 off admission to the movie! I’m not too sure what to expect from the game, but given TT Fusion’s recent releases for the series, it’s definitely worth checking out. I’ll let you know more once I get my hands on it. Has anyone already seen the movie or played the game? Let us know what you think!
According to EA, the Xbox 360 version for upcoming shooter Titanfall has been pushed back to March 25th. The PC and Xbox One versions will since release on March 11th.
Ubisoft’s Child of Light, a traditional JRPG-styled game using the UbiArt Framework (from Rayman Origins / Legends), is coming to PC/PS3/PS4/XBOX 360/XBOX ONE/Wii U(!) on April 30th through their respective download services (i.e. Xbox Live, PSN, Steam, etc.).
The latest trailer for upcoming steal-action game, Thief, shows everything you need to know before stepping out into the shadows. The game releases for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on February 25th.
Airtight Games and Square Enix announced today that Murdered: Soul Suspect, an upcoming ‘ghost detective’ action-adventure game, will be coming out for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in June of this year. The video posted above actually came out yesterday, but only discussed an Xbox One version. Nothing was confirmed yet on a PS4 version until today.
Microsoft came out this morning saying it has purchased the rights to the Gears of War franchise from Epic. Further cementing the series to stay on Xbox consoles forever. Sorry PlayStation owners.
Check out 17 minutes of Thief gameplay on the PS4 with the game’s lead level designer, Daniel Windfield Schmidt.
It’s not much, but it’s definitely great to see the game coming along. With a release date set for 2015, I’ll pretty much take anything at this point. Continue reading
We’re only four days away till the release of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition for PS4 and Xbox One. Until then, feast your eyes upon the official launch trailer for the game.
Ubisoft has been keeping tight-lipped about the upcoming Tom Clancy’s The Division, but they definitely aren’t shying away from letting us look at the game. It’s definitely still a gorgeous piece of work. The last I’ve seen from the game was it’s announcement at last year’s E3, but it’s nice to know it’s still going strong behind closed doors. Still no release date, but hopefully we’ll see in later this year. Until then, proceed to drool over the latest batch of screenshots. Continue reading
The executive producer for Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition gives us a walkthrough of all the graphical enhancements in this re-release. Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition will be out January 28th for PS4 and Xbox One.
Spinal is the next character to debut in Killer Instinct‘s roster on Xbox One. I like what they’ve done for the most part. I’m just questioning his kilt? Did they make Spinal Scottish? Either that or he’s a 90’s grunge rocker. Either way, he’s a welcome addition to what’s turning out to be an amazing fighter. There’s no official release date set yet, but it should be in the next month or so. I still need to play this game for myself. It was the one game that came out last year that I’ve been dying to get my hands on, and I still am! Let us know what you think about Spinal’s update in the comments below.
IO Interactive announced they are hard at work on a next-gen title in the Hitman series. In an open letter to fans released this morning, the developer apologized for everything wrong in Hitman: Absolution and stated they will be returning to a more open-ended sandbox style gameplay.
Electronic Arts is randomly sending out invitations for the Titanfall alpha to Xbox One owners that have registered Battlefield 4 through EA’s Origin service.
Because, why not? Announced today, Call of Duty: Ghosts will be getting it’s first round of downloadable maps labeled “Onslaught” brings three new multiplayer maps, a new extinction map, and two new weapons. The most interesting of these things being the ability to play as Michael Myers from the Halloween movies in the “Fog” map. As out of place as this might seem, the Call of Duty franchise has always gone a little crazy when it comes to DLC maps, starting with the zombie mode maps from Black Ops. Continue reading
Well this is certainly something we’re not used to seeing, though it does happen
occasionally rarely, but Ubisoft has announced they will be bumping the release date of Rayman Legends on PS4 and XBOX ONE up to February 18th. That a whole 10 days ahead of its original February 28th release date! Amazing isn’t it? Continue reading
Though nothing has been officially announced through Bethesda or any other official outlet, it’s worth noting that for a brief part of yesterday, the Bethesda website had listed Skyrim as coming to PS4 and Xbox ONE. This was later taken down after news spread across other video game sites throughout the day. This could have been a mistake from someone working on the site, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
Aside from everything we touched on earlier, here’s a quick recap with the developers on everything you need to know about Alien: Isolation
