It’s exactly what it sounds like. Here we have Mega Man creator, Keiji Inafune, playing an early build of his new game Mighty No. 9. According to the youtube notes attached to the video, this was from Inafune’s speech at the 2014 D.I.C.E. Awards.
Do you like Lego games? Are you planning on seeing The Lego Movie in theaters? Pick up a retail copy of The Lego Movie Videogame, out now for PC/PS3/PS4/VITA/XBOX 360/XBOX ONE/3DS/Wii U, and get a voucher that’s good for $7.50 off admission to the movie! I’m not too sure what to expect from the game, but given TT Fusion’s recent releases for the series, it’s definitely worth checking out. I’ll let you know more once I get my hands on it. Has anyone already seen the movie or played the game? Let us know what you think!
Everyone’s favorite blue hedgehog is getting a face lift this year in the form of Sonic Boom, the latest animated series, video game, and toy line to feature Sonic and his crew. The gameplay from the trailer above seems to be reminiscent of the Sonic Heroes game from 2004. Unless the other characters are part of a co-op mode, expect to see a lot of teamwork based play here. The redesigns for Sonic, Tails, and Amy aren’t that much of a difference, but it’s Knuckles that I’m trying to get used to. This is definitely a different take on his look. The beefed up echidna definitely fits his attitude more than his scrawny body we currently know. I just really have to see more of it before I can truly judge how I feel about it. You can also check out the trailer for the TV series below.
No release date has been set for Sonic Boom as of yet, but you can look for the game on Wii U and 3DS. They will be serving as a prequel to the show, which will be broadcast on Cartoon Network. What are your thoughts about this updated look?
Ubisoft’s Child of Light, a traditional JRPG-styled game using the UbiArt Framework (from Rayman Origins / Legends), is coming to PC/PS3/PS4/XBOX 360/XBOX ONE/Wii U(!) on April 30th through their respective download services (i.e. Xbox Live, PSN, Steam, etc.).
At a recent business strategy meeting yesterday, Satoru Iwata went over Nintendo’s newest strategies to come back from their recent financial woes. Someone from the Wall Street Journal’s tech blog was there, live-blogging the whole thing. One of the big announcements coming out of that meeting was that we’ll be seeing Mario Kart 8 released worldwide in May of this year. While there wasn’t a specific date set, May was more than enough for me. We’ll keep you posted once an actual date is given.
Another big report coming out of Nintendo is the coming release of Nintendo DS games for the Wii U via the Nintendo eShop. There’s been no announcement citing what specific games will be released or when we’ll be able to play them, but that they are definitely coming. We’ll update as more is known.
In light of the recent failure to push Wii U console numbers, Nintendo is really aiming to step up their game and truly bring their products up to spec with the rest of the others. One of these steps will finally bring multiple console shared content. This means that people who own more than one Wii U or 3DS, like myself, will finally be able to share content across all of their systems as it will be tied to their Nintendo Network ID as opposed to being tied to the console itself, like it is now. This is actually one of the bigger announcements coming out of Nintendo lately, for me at least. Anyone else affected by this?
If there’s one thing Nintendo is set on doing, it’s cutting down the Wii U’s load times. This will actually be the second update released to cut down on the system’s load time to boot games. Still, this will be a pretty handy feature to be able to just jump into whatever games I’m itching to play. I could easily see this sort of feature being implemented into other consoles in the future.
It’s not much, but it’s definitely great to see the game coming along. With a release date set for 2015, I’ll pretty much take anything at this point. Continue reading
Because, why not? Announced today, Call of Duty: Ghosts will be getting it’s first round of downloadable maps labeled “Onslaught” brings three new multiplayer maps, a new extinction map, and two new weapons. The most interesting of these things being the ability to play as Michael Myers from the Halloween movies in the “Fog” map. As out of place as this might seem, the Call of Duty franchise has always gone a little crazy when it comes to DLC maps, starting with the zombie mode maps from Black Ops. Continue reading
Coming exclusively to Wii U and 3DS, two new games to the Sonic series. Sonic Lost Worlds features gameplay elements from past Sonic games, namely Sonic Colors, and adds its own innovations to the mix. Continue reading
